Noise...somebody help...please....

i did find a problem with all this engine business. something is ratteling. it sounds like a tin can. and not when you're sitting there but when you take off between 1-2,500 rpms. it sounds like a shrowd (sp?) or maybe a heat sheild of some sort.

the shop is going to put it up on the rack and try to find it. before i go down there i'd kinda like to know what to look for.

anyone else ever had this problem? before or after doing work under your hood? HABIB...you listening? i bet you know!

You guys didnt take off the flywheel cover did you? I know mine rattled so I had to put a washer inbetween it.

I had a rattle like that. Turned out that one of my header bolts had come loose. Pop the hood and rev it up to see if you can find it... Good luck

i hope it doesn't sound like the rattle in my car right now..you can hear it when the clutch is not engaged..just sitting still in neutral w/ clutch out, and then really loud when rolling in 1st and 2nd. i think it's a bearing on my input shaft..my tranny is imploding. good thing i'm doing a b16 in a month . good luck ami

I've got a rattling at similar rpm and I know its a heat shield on my exhaust...

Heat shield loose, pebble caught on top of heat shield (happened to mine), cat coming apart inside (had this happen in my Mustang).

Putting it on a rack is a good idea. Then start banging things with a rubber mallet.

If you get the rattle withthe car sitting still a stethescope works wonders to find the source.
